Being raised in Egypt, or any other Arab nation, a developing nation with a strong religious conservative culture, leaves one wondering a lot about what could have happened for such a significant change to occur. Egypt was also one of the first major civilizations to codify social justice, design elements in art and architecture, as well as some of the earliest literature in history. There were periods when the Queer community and art were vibrant, alive, and active, and there were also moments (NOW!) when they were restricted, risky, unsafe, and dangerous to practice.
