Irena Tomažin – Još jedna plačljiva igra

Plačljive igre vjerojatno su najprepoznatljiviji rad slovenske umjetnice Irene Tomažin Zagoričnik koji je po posljednji put, s izvanrednim odjekom kod publike, izveden na festivalu Druga Godba 2012. godine. Još jedna plačljiva igra, s nadimkom ‘iT’, sadržajno se nastavlja te proširuje raniju ideju projekta korištenjem glazbe kao kontrapunkta fragmentima teksta i stihova miješanjem glasa, melodije, monologa, dijaloga, zapisa, kao i petlji poništenih bukom ili, pak, rafiniranih u izolaciji.

Irena Tomažin Zagoričnik slovenska je izvođačica, koreografkinja i edukatorica glasa. (Srčanu) jezgru njenog rada predstavlja glas u različitom oblicima postojanja. Započevši vlastito plesno obrazovanje iz poriva za kretanjem i oslobađanjem unutarnjih napetosti i nadahnuća, njezina izvedbena praksa od tada se preusmjerava prema istrazi oko utjelovljenog glasa. Njezin je govorni rad uvijek tjelesan, povezan je s tijelom, gestom/plesom i prostorom, ali je istovremeno vrlo orijentiran na zvučne teksture glasa. Njezina se praksa manifestira u obliku misli, pjesme, događanja izgovorenih riječi i eksperimentalnih koncerata, kao i kroz režiju plesa i kazališnog rada. Ponekad to proizlazi iz susreta i suradnje s drugim umjetnicima, ponekad kad smo sami pri čemu se stvara prostor za slušanje onoga što je izvana i iznutra.

Kao edukatorica, Irena regularno održava radionice po čitavoj Europi, konkretno u Francuskoj, Njemačkoj, Engleskoj, Švicarskoj, Švedskoj, Belgiji, Srbiji, Hrvatskoj, Sjevernoj Makedoniji, Italiji, Mađarskoj, Poljskoj, Austriji, Japanu, Libanonu, Iranu, Grčkoj, Bosni i Hercegovini, Slovačkoj, kao i u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama.

Crying Games is perhaps Irena Tomažin Zagoričnik’s most recognisable piece and one she last presented at Druga Godba in 2012, where it met with a rapturous response. Another Crying Game, performed under the ‘iT’ moniker, continues and extends that earlier project, playing the music off against fragments of text and song lyrics, and interweaving voice, melody, monologue, dialogue, recordings, and loops that are cancelled by noise or refined in isolation. Another world premiere for this year’s festival.

Irena Tomažin Zagoričnik is a Slovenian performer, choreographer and a voice teacher. The (heart)core of her work is the voice in its various existence. Starting out her dance education from the urge to move and release inner tensions and inspirations, her performance practice has since then shifted towards the investigation around the embodied voice. Her voice work is always physical, connected with body, gesture/dance and space, but at the same time is very oriented towards the sound textures of the voice. Her practice manifests in the form of thoughts, songs, spoken word events and experimental concerts, as well as through directing dance and theatre work. Sometimes it rises from the encounter and collaboration with other artists, other times from being alone, making space for listening to what is outside and inside.

As a teacher, Irena shares her work regularly teaching workshops in Europe, having taught in many international festivals and venues in France, Germany, England, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Serbia, Croatia, North Macedonia, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Austria, Japan, Lebanon, Iran, Greece, Bosnia, Slovakia, and US.
