Škvadra (HR): Ne čujem te, mrak je – intervencija

Kroz intervenciju Ne čujem te, mrak je Škvadra istražuje različite razine komunikacije od najjednostavnijeg prijenosa poruke od pošiljatelja do primatelja, do ostalih kompleksnijih sastojaka koji čine razgovor. Ovaj koncept, isprva namijenjen kazališnom prostoru, odlučuju prenamijeniti u site-specific izvedbu. Zanima ih kako će drugačiji, otvoreni, javni prostor preoblikovati postojeću izvedbu, na koji način će se drugi prostor poigrati s već stvorenim materijalima te na koje će se nove načine izvođači snalaziti u novim situacijama.
Namjera je pronaći nova rješenja za postojeći vokabular te ih prezentirati kao svojevrsnu prostornu intervenciju/virus u javnom prostoru, a istovremeno izazvati sebe kao izvođače u potrazi za obogaćivanjem svoje izvedbe.

Škvadra je skupina 8 mladih profesionalnih plesnih umjetnika, nastala iz potrebe za stvaranjem vlastitih prilika, suradnji i projekata. Jedan od glavnih interesa Škvadre je suradnja s drugim plesačima, ali i umjetnicima koji djeluju u drugim umjetničkim medijima. Vođeni potrebom za promjenom i osvježenjem plesne umjetnosti u Hrvatskoj, Škvadra kroz svoje radove želi kazalište i ples približiti ljudima i učiniti ga pristupačnim, novim i izazovnim. Zato je Škvadrin interes usmjeren ne samo na izvođenje u kazališnim prostorima već i na istraživanje alternativnih prostora izvedbe, site-specific izvedbi, drugačijih načina oglašavanja i promicanja plesne umjetnosti. Škvadra je do sada ostvarila dva projekta: site-specific izvedbu Punopravno u Mesničkoj i plesnu predstavu Ne čujem te, mrak je u ZPC-u.

Through the intervention I can’t hear you, it’s dark, Škvadra explores different levels of communication, from the simplest transfer of messages from sender to recipient, to other more complex components that make a conversation. This concept , that was first made for an indoor theatre space, is now being adapted and transformed into a site-specific performance. Škvadra wants to find out how can a different – open, public space – influence and reshape the existing dance material and how can the performers adapt to the new situations. The intention is to find new solutions for the existing vocabulary presenting it as a spatial intervention, a virus in the public space, while at the same time challenging themselves as performers and finding ways to enrich their materials.

Škvadra is a group of 8 young professional dance artists who create their own opportunities, cooperation and projects. One of the main Škvadra’s interests is cooperation with other dancers, as well as with artists working in different artistic media. Guided by the need to change and refresh the dance art in Croatia, Škvadra wants to bring the theatre and dance closer to people and make them accessible, new and challenging. That is why Škvadra’s interest is not only focused on performing in theatre venues but also on exploring alternative venues, site-specific performances, different ways of advertising and promoting the dance art. Škvadra has already realized two projects: a site-specific performance Punopravno in Mesnička St. and Ne čujem te, mrak je in Zagreb Dance Centre.
