Elektronički zvuci mutiranih strojeva odjekuju preko imaginarnog zvučnog krajolika stvarajući surealni sonički svijet nastanjen lutajućim automatima. Rad Machine Life in the Bush of Ghosts istražuje mogućnost neživih objekata da posjeduju svojevrstan život ili duh u doba umjetne inteligencije.
Svoj rad temelji na istraživanju medija kroz prakse izrade vlastitih elektroničkih instrumenata, aproprijacije zastarjelih tehnologija i reciklažu. Izlagao je i nastupao na raznim platformama u Hrvatskoj i inozemstvu, samostalno i u kolaborativnim projektima (Test Lab na V2_ Rotterdam, CreArt na LAVA Valladolid, Izlog suvremenog zvuka, MIMO, Sine Linea, Sound art inkubator u Zagrebu, Device art u Pragu).
Rad je nastao u sklopu Rezidencije Muzičkog salona, u koprodukciji Kulture promjene Studentskog Centra u Zagrebu i festivala Perforacije udruge Domino.
In this work, the electronic sound of mutated machines rings out across an imaginary soundscape to produce a surreal sonic landscape inhabited by wandering automata. A sound world of Machine Life in the Bush of Ghosts, that explores the possibility that inanimate objects can possess a kind of life or spirit in the age of artificial intelligence. The work is the collision of two diverse arts practices: that of Tin Dožić who repurposes everyday objects and turns them into sound machines and Australian sound artist Colin Black who explores notions of place and site through the use of sound.
Colin Black is an internationally acclaimed sound artist having won the 2015 New York Festivals award for sound art, the 2003 Prix Italia Award and achieving final round selection in the 2010, 2011, 2015 and 2016 Prix Phonurgia Nova (France) for his major works. Black has received multiple national and international commissions to create innovative major works for installation, performance and broadcast in Australia, USA and across Europe.
Tin Dožić graduated psychology at the Croatian Studies of the University of Zagreb and new media at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. His work is based on the media research through the practice of developing his own electronic instruments, appropriation of outdated technologies and recycling. He performed and presented his work in different platforms in Croatia and abroad, independently and in collaborative projects (Test Lab at V2_ Rotterdam, CreArt at LAVA Valladolid, Showroom of Contemporary Sound, MIMO, Sine Linea, Sound Art Incubator in Zagreb, Device art in Prague).
