After the spring edition dedicated to trans experiences and identities, Queer Moments, organized by the Domino Association , continues in 2026 with an autumn cycle featuring four films from Canada, Japan, Greece and Australia. All screenings will take place at 9 pm at the Cultural Information Center (KIC) in Zagreb, and will present to the Croatian audience for the first time film works screened at prestigious international festivals.
This season’s program encompasses a variety of film genres and perspectives, from social drama and auteur film to romance and erotic thriller. The films explore identity, desire, family relationships and tensions between the individual and society, opening up a space for exploring experiences and stories that rarely reach a wider audience.
The program opens on October 27 with the Canadian film I Don’t Know Who You Are , screened in the Discovery program of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and at the BFI Flare festival in London. Through an intense and personal story, the film explores the intertwining of sexuality, racism, violence, and access to healthcare.
Scheduled for release on November 16 is Tiger , a Japanese film by director Anshul Chahan, winner of the Hylife Vision Award at the 2025 Busan International Film Festival. The film explores the tensions between sexual identity, family, and social expectations in contemporary Japan.
On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, November 25 , audiences will be able to watch the Greek film Bearcave . It had its world premiere in the Giornate degli Autori program at the Venice Film Festival, where it won the Europa Cinemas Label for Best European Film. It also won the FIPRESCI Prize and other awards. Through the themes of female desire, autonomy and social expectations, the film opens up a space for reflection on issues that will also be addressed at the international feminist conference that Domino is organizing in December.
The autumn cycle ends on December 8th with the Australian film Body Blow , a provocative queer thriller screened at the Sydney Film Festival and winner of the Best Director award at the 2026 Fantaspoa fantasy film festival. Combining erotica, crime elements, dark humor, and camp aesthetics, the film brings a playful and unconventional end to the program.
Four films from four continents thus continue the mission of Queer Moments: to bring contemporary international queer cinema to Croatia and open space for new stories, voices and perspectives on the big screen.
