At the center of the story are two friends heading to Babin Kuk to stop a wedding—because what is an invitation to others is an alarm for them. When love delivers its final blow and reason takes a holiday, they get into a car and set off on a hellish journey from Zagreb to Dubrovnik, in the high heat, with the music blasting and emotions that won’t fit even in the trunk. Babin Kuk Is Burning is a playful and completely offbeat musical comedy about two women driven mad by love, heat, and life, who—amid an emotional boiling point—decide that they will start fighting for happiness, even if it means going to the last drop of blood.
