9. 10. – 11. 10. 2025.
From October 9th to 11th, 2025. Zagreb will host the new edition of the Sounded Bodies festival , an event dedicated to the meeting of bodies, movement and sound in the performing arts. The festival will take place at the Zagreb Dance Center and the Liberdance space, and will feature artists from Croatia, Argentina and Italy : the art collective Malo Sutra (Croatia), Lana Hosni (Croatia), Corps Citoyen (Italy) , Gonzalo Quintana (Argentina) , Lucía Giannoni (Argentina) .
The program opens on October 9th at 8 pm at the ZPC by the Croatian art collective Malo Sutra (Bruno Isaković and Mia Zalukar) with the performance Wanderlust . In this music-dance improv jam, dance and music merge into a unique performance experience.
From October 9th to 11th, every day from 1pm to 5pm at Liberdance , Lana Hosni leads the Ensemble for the Sparkling, Affective and Fictive together with Ivana Bojanić , Danijela Renić , Viktoria Bubalo , Ivana Vojnić Vratarić , Ema Crnić and Iva Korenčić . This artistic LAB deals with the question of how emotional and thought patterns shape the way we think, experience and create dance. The process is open to the audience, who can participate in the research or join in the final presentation through viewing, conversation or even rest. Hosni thus continues her long-standing research into the relationship between personal and collective experience in choreographic practices.
Friday, October 10th at 8pm at ZPC The Italian collective Corps Citoyen is hosting the performance Barrani: La doppia assenza . The work is based on the experience of migration and the concept of “double absence” – a situation in which a migrant finds no place in either the country of origin or the country of arrival. Nostalgia, exile and the mother tongue are woven into a choreography that transforms the body into an archive of gestures, memories and rituals. “Barrani”, which means foreigner in Tunisian Arabic, is dedicated to the diaspora generation and non-native European citizens, and the performance combines presence and absence in a unique stage form.
Final day of the festival, Saturday, October 11th , brings two performances from Argentina . At 7 pm, Gonzalo Quintana will perform at the ZPC with the play La Consagración de Nadie , a bio-dramatic project that follows Micaela Fariña , an opera singer and actress who never managed to find a place in the Buenos Aires opera scene. In the form of documentary theater, the performance intertwines motifs of success, frustrated dreams, family and love relationships, and raises the question of the personal path, destiny and the role of the artist in society. At 9 pm on the same day, the performance Que Funcione by the Argentine artist Lucía Giannoni will follow, an immersive performative and political experiment in which the audience becomes the central participant. Upon entering the space, viewers take on an active role, facing the challenges of decision-making, negotiation and joint action. The project explores the relationship between the individual and the community, power and resistance, creating an anti-hegemonic space in which differences are valued as the basis for creating a spontaneous, collective “WE”.
