What planet are you? is a participatory dance performance for children with elements of new circus and a very strong audio-visual atmosphere that uses somatic movement, improvisation, ambient sound and immersive scenography through which the movers and viewers travel. The idea comes from the experience of touch that leads us to the extremes – understanding, feelings and needs – in the context of the post-pandemic present. The artist explores how ideas and states are transmitted through breath and touch, as the main movers of the human body in interaction with the environment and with each other.

[BIO]
NIKOLINA KOMLJENOVIĆ is a choreographer, contemporary dancer and aerial acrobat, pedagogue, producer and creative director of the Experimental Free Scene Association (ekscena). In 2009, Nikolina was invited to Algeria as part of an intercontinental collaboration on a project of contemporary dance, hip-hop and new circus, for which she created an aerial choreography called EL HARRAG (translated as: immigrants burning their documents). This project took her to the Middle East, to two contemporary dance festivals – Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival in Palestine and Zakharef in Motion – Amman International Dance Festival in Jordan. She worked for three years as a clown doctor at the Red Noses association. Since 2012, Nikolina has been developing the idea of bodies in the air in collaboration with local artists wherever she visits through the project IF I PLAY A NEW GAME. She choreographed her own spine in the project Object into Subject #spine, performs Gla Sanje with Slovenian choreographer Božidar Šumi (Gregor Kamnikar), and plays with children in the participatory performance What*s your planet*a? Since the end of 2019, she has been developing the project TANKA LINE, which unfolds on several curtains of fishing nylon (cress/flax/tuna/fordešpanj/silk/pandivjerna..), and has so far shown its development process as part of the relaxed Cirkorama stage in Zagreb and in Split after a one-week residency organized by Cirkus kolektiv. It premiered at the European event of the Circostrada network in collaboration with Cirkorama – Circus Night in 2021.
