Introducing the selected artists of the 1st Island Connect open call
We present the European artists selected for the residency program of the European project Island Connect II – Artistic Residency.
The residency first takes place in Komiža on Vis, from April 7 to 21, 2024, and then continues in Ireland, in the city of Limerick, from July 30, 2024 to August 13, 2024.
The residential program includes Springlab, a program of training, workshops and training for all selected artists from 7 partner organizations, which is held in Komiža on Vis from April 2 to 8, 2024, organized by the Domino association, the partner manager.
The Island Connect II project is focused on the development of art on the islands and connecting the islands into a unique residential network of art organizations.

We present the artists for the Artistic residency below:
Nikolina Komljenović
The selected artist from Croatia who will participate in the Artistic residency is Nikolina Komljenović, circus artist, performer, dancer, choreographer, pedagogue and producer. She will participate in the residential program with her art project made of flax fiber – “Thin Line”. In Limerick, she would like to connect her interests in one place and through body work. By moving through the dynamics of body kinesthesia and gravity on a firm surface or in free, airy space. Through her artistic expression, the artist wants to establish a dialogue with the users of the Irish Aerial Creation Centre, as well as to establish a dialogue with the local community in Komiža.
