Queer Folklore proposes a shop-window scenography whose central motif is a spider—a hybrid creature marked by a vintage club-kid aesthetic, heavy makeup, and a moustache. This figure operates as a queer subject that destabilizes binary understandings of gender and identity, resisting any clear or fixed categorization. Through its hybridity, the spider becomes a symbol of an identity that exists outside socially prescribed frameworks.
The work The Book of Genesis by Andrej Vern departs from the intimacy of everyday space in order to articulate transition as a continuous, open-ended process, freed from the notion of finality suggested by the term “post-transition.” Through the tactile mapping of the relief of stairs—sites of repetition, passage, and pause—the artist establishes a parallel between architectural fissures and personal transformations, emphasizing their temporal layering and persistence.
Based on the applications received in response to Domino’s open call for exhibitions in the Q Izlog of the Domino association, located at Petrinjska 38 in Zagreb (with a submission deadline of March 13, 2026), the following artists have been selected for exhibitions in 2026:
